How Communities Work
Communities are the top-level organizational unit in Snakk. Each community is a self-contained space with its own identity, rules, moderators, and content.
What defines a community
- A name and optional description
- Its own set of rules that apply to all content within it
- A team of moderators who manage content and members
- One or more hubs that organize the community's spaces
Multi-community support
A single Snakk installation can host multiple communities. Each community can have its own custom domain, branding, and rules. Content is separated between communities — a discussion in one community doesn't appear in another.
Joining
Most communities allow public reading without an account. To post, reply, or interact, you need to be signed in. Some communities may restrict posting to approved members.
