How Moderation Works
Snakk uses a hierarchical moderation system where permissions flow downward through the organizational structure.
Moderator roles
| Role | Scope | Can moderate |
|---|---|---|
| Global Admin | Everything | All communities, hubs, spaces, and discussions |
| Community Admin | One community | All hubs and spaces within the community |
| Hub Moderator | One hub | All spaces within the hub |
| Space Moderator | One space | Discussions within that space only |
Permissions flow downward: a Community Admin can moderate anything a Hub Mod or Space Mod can, but not vice versa.
Moderation actions
Moderators can:
- Remove posts and discussions
- Lock discussions (prevent new replies)
- Issue temporary or permanent bans
- Review and act on reports
- View moderation audit logs
All moderation actions are logged for accountability.
Transparency
Moderation actions are visible in the moderation audit log. The community's moderator team is listed publicly on the Moderators page, accessible from the sidebar.
